Overview Characters I Like Gameplay
Signalis takes heavily after survival horror games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, mixing them together.
The story itself is more reminiscent of Silent Hill, and the gameplay is more of Resident Evil.
Limited inventory, frequent puzzles and riddles, ammo conservation, and reviving enemies.
The core loop is exploring a new area, navigating around or fighting the enemies, and working out what you need to do to progress.
The key to progression is normally finding keys from completing puzzles, and using said keys to unlock the next area.
In Signalis you have access to only a few weapons. A pistol, shotgun, smg, bigger shotgun (rifle?), a grenade launcher, and disposable stun prods.
Generally it's only feasible to carry one or two, due to the ammo taking up another slot.
Shooting enemies is incredibly simple. Aim, wait for the reticle on the enemy to zero in, and fire. The longer you wait for the lockon, the more damage you do.
More often than not, the enemies you shoot will writhe on the ground and will require you to KICK EM WHILE THEY'RE DOWN.
Enemies will revive eventually, though. Shooting and kicking only works for a little while. Setting them on fire via flares or the grenade launcher will fully take them out.
You have to pick and choose which you temporarily or permanently take out.
Puzzles usually range from trial and error to riddles.
I am, in fact, a dumbass and usually had to google the answers. But they are very good.
I'm not able to say more on this topic beyond "they are very good I am just not good at puzzles".
